Ahead of 2025 we were preparing for a potential significant correction in equity markets and we certainly got that. Markets were already in a corrective process before “Liberation Day” and with weak technicals, a routine correction turned into a large correction. This move, taking place over the course of less than two months, delivered one of the biggest technical back tests I have perhaps ever seen. The “Trump Taco” (not just on tariffs but arguably more importantly fiscal spending) piled on after the technical back test and we saw that huge technical hold turn into an absolutely massive intra-year move. We have now seen three massive up years in a row. Will we see a fourth? In this year’s Equity Markets Year Ahead (a video again) I’ll outline some of the major technical areas to hold during a potential correction, along with some of my upside extensions/targets above these current highs.
